It was formally created in 1991 to replace the Macau International Airport Office (O Gabinete do Aeroporto Internacional de Macau) created in 1987.〔(About Us )〕 Some of the roles of the Airport Office was taken over by the CAM-Macau International Airport Company Limited. The AACM is headed by the President, who reports to the General Committee (as a member) and the Administrative Committee (as the head). Like Hong Kong, the CAAM is an independent authority from the Civil Aviation Administration of China.
